One of five people discovered during the Gifted People gathering. Ishizuka is basically the guy obsessed with food—and I mean obsessed. He's known for being heavyset and genuinely passionate about eating and cooking, to the point where he spent basically all his money traveling around the world hunting down rare and unique ingredients. That experience paid off though; his knowledge of obscure foods became crucial in helping Souma tackle various cooking challenges.
His title, Ishizuka, literally means "The One who Persistently Search for Food," which is pretty on-the-nose but also kind of perfect for him. After he helped solve a major food shortage problem, he got promoted to Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries—so his food obsession ended up being genuinely useful to society, apparently.
