Lirin is Gyumaoh's daughter with his mistress Gyokumen Koushou, making her half-sister to Kougaiji in Saiyuki. Despite being a constant reminder of their father's infidelity—and a sore spot for their mother Ratsetsunyo—Kougaiji genuinely loves her anyway.
Her personality is strikingly similar to Son Goku's: cheerful, perpetually grinning, with that same carefree energy. Don't let her youthful appearance fool you though—she's genuinely formidable in a fight, though she's probably more famous among fans for her, um, distinctly generous figure.
In the Saiyuki Reload manga, she nearly becomes a test subject for Ni Jian Yi before Kougaiji rescues her. After that, the two of them strike out on their own with their loyal companions Dokugakuji and Yaone to pursue their own agenda: stealing the scripture from the Sanzo party.
