Devimon is a Fallen Angel Digimon—basically what happens when an Angemon gets corrupted. The story goes that distortions in the Digital World's space threw him into the Dark Area, and he transformed into the dark entity he is today. That evil mark on his chest? That's his wickedness made visible.
He's got a reputation as a cunning, calculating devil who doesn't waste time with pointless fights against opponents he respects. Yeah, he's vicious and merciless, but he's genuinely loyal to whoever he's made a pact with. There's something hypnotic about those crimson eyes of his—stare too long and supposedly he can warp your mind. IceDevimon exists as his ice-type counterpart.
Devimon's been around under different names depending on the media. In the old Tamagotchi virtual pets, he went by Darkmon, and he's also known as the Dark Messenger. He's one of the rare villain Digimon to get his own character song, "Dark Wing," which fittingly wraps up with a sinister laugh.
