Dr. Becker worked at Eisler Memorial Hospital as a cynical, burnt-out physician—the kind of guy who'd seen enough hospital politics to be thoroughly disillusioned by it all. Despite their pretty different outlooks, he became Tenma's closest friend and confidante at the hospital. Becker had Tenma's back, even as he constantly warned him about the institutional corruption festering under Udo Heinemann's leadership. He wasn't shy about calling out the mess for what it was: corrupt and unethical. Where Tenma remained idealistic, Becker was the one keeping it real, trying to impress upon his friend just how broken the system actually was.
