Arthur joined the 8th Fire Brigade Unit right after Shinra did. He's got shoulder-length bangs that he ties back during duty to show his forehead. His whole "knight" thing came from a childhood memory of his parents—they ditched him after their business went under, and something about that stuck with him. Now he's obsessed with the idea of being a knight who protects people. Weirdly, he refuses to wear a helmet at fire scenes because it doesn't fit his knight aesthetic.
His main weapon is Excalibur, a sword that shoots flames directly from the hilt since there's no actual blade. He's spent serious time perfecting his swordsmanship around it. He's also got a plastic knockoff version called "Mini Excalibur" for smaller jobs like welding and cutting. Vulcan made him some kind of ridiculous mock donkey he calls Silver, which he basically just rides around. His combat effectiveness is all over the place depending on his mood—when he's using his dominant hand, he can one-shot enemies, but his off-hand game is pathetically weak.
Despite his combat skills, Arthur's not great at anything requiring actual brainpower. He makes stupid mistakes constantly and somehow always manages to misunderstand things, which is why people treat him like an idiot. That said, every now and then he notices stuff nobody else does.
He and Shinra trained together but never got along—Shinra's all about being a hero while Arthur's fixated on being a knight, and Arthur's still bitter that Shinra once told him knights were weak. On the bright side, he's good-looking enough that people of the opposite sex are into him regardless of his intelligence.
