Synopsis

Shinra Kusakabe has carried the trauma of losing his family in a fire since childhood. Now he's a third-generation pyrokinetic—someone who can control flames—which is both a gift and a curse he's had to live with. Tokyo's streets are being terrorized by Infernals: first-generation pyrokinetics who spontaneously combust into flaming monsters. After his abilities catch the attention of the authorities, Shinra gets recruited into Special Fire Force Company 8, a military brigade designed to fight these creatures. Working for the Fire Force seems like his life's purpose, but Shinra quickly realizes that being a hero is harder than he expected. Infernal attacks are spreading across the country, and the Fire Force itself is struggling to stay united. Things get worse when Shinra encounters a mysterious cult connected to his past. His investigation into the truth pulls him into a much larger conspiracy—one that threatens to set the entire world ablaze.
