Ryouko comes across as exactly what you'd expect from a top-tier high school student—genuinely kind, hardworking, and the kind of person everyone naturally gravitates toward. Taniguchi ranked her in the top three first-year girls (grade AA+), which tracks: she's got the looks, the personality, and the athletic ability to back it up. Her popularity was so overwhelming that she became class president basically by default. She also seemed genuinely bothered by how Haruhi had pulled away from everyone else.
There's also a chibi version of her called Achakura-san that shows up in the 4-koma comics. In that form, she's basically a tiny maid living with Yuki—though she didn't want the gig at first. Yuki had to take her in after she kept getting chased by cats that would've eaten her. She warmed up to the arrangement eventually, though Yuki definitely uses her as a sort of punching bag sometimes, scaring and tormenting her for laughs.
