Meruru started life as a PC doujin game before getting expanded into an all-ages PC release and branching out from there. The character became Kirino's favorite anime, which honestly says a lot about her taste—typical of Kirino, really. The series built a solid following thanks to its charming premise and character designs, with Meruru herself becoming one of the more memorable faces of the franchise.
