Lara runs the Laramie Ranch just outside the Kanto Safari Zone alongside her family. She's known for keeping the place safe from Pokémon poachers with help from her Ponyta and Growlithe.
Things took a rough turn when she was prepping her Ponyta for a big race—Team Rocket, hired by a rival trainer named Dario, sabotaged her and broke her arm in the process. Instead of giving up, Lara had the idea to have Ash ride her Ponyta instead. It turned out to be the right call. Ash won the race against Dario and the other competitors, and in the heat of it all, her Ponyta evolved into Rapidash.
