Synopsis

Ten-year-old Satoshi catches a Pikachu after it tears up his house's electrical wiring, and decides to become a Pokemon Master. He's driven partly by rivalry with his neighbor Shigeru, who got a head start on his own journey. Along the way he travels with Kasumi, a water-type trainer and gym leader, and Takeshi, who specializes in ground and rock types and also runs a gym. They meet plenty of other trainers and experienced people who help him out on his quest.
