Ruri's a hugely popular idol, and honestly, a lot of fans in the series are openly crushing on her—Shinra and Togusa among them, plus various members of the Awakusu-kai. Her appeal largely hinges on her delicate, almost ethereal look, which works perfectly for her image.
Before becoming an idol, she was a makeup artist. She actually did the vampire makeup work for Kasuka's first TV gig, which is kind of a fun detail about how she ended up in this world.
