Renton's father Adroc was a celebrated military researcher who pioneered the Ageha Plan—only to become convinced it was too dangerous to ever use and tried to have it shelved. He led experiments investigating the Seven Swell phenomenon as part of a broader research initiative involving the Amita Drive.
The circumstances of his death remain central to the story. During an experiment on the Amita Drive, something went catastrophically wrong. Adroc managed to prevent planetary destruction by manually removing the Compac/Amita Drive from the Nirvash, stopping the transdimensional rift from fully opening—but the act pulled him directly into the rift instead. He vanished without a trace, leaving only the drive behind. He was officially declared dead, though his body was never recovered.
Back home in Bellforest, the town erected a monument to his memory and heroism. These days, few people visit it.
Adroc never actually appears on screen with dialogue. Fans only see him through flashback narration or silent cameos throughout the series.
