Kotomi is one of Tomoya's classmates, though she's in a different class from him. Her name comes from the koto, a traditional Japanese stringed instrument. She's basically a genius—consistently ranking in the top ten across every subject in nationwide standardized tests. You'll usually find her in the library digging through extra materials and foreign language books, which pretty much sums up her personality: reserved, quiet, and not exactly easy to talk to.
