A literary critic who became known for interviewing Kikuhiko after he'd reached shin'uchi status. He rubbed Kikuhiko the wrong way almost immediately—not because of anything he said about Kikuhiko himself, but because he was openly critical of Sukeroku. That antagonism stuck around. His son, Amaken, followed in his footsteps and went on to become a rakugo critic in his own right.
