Hiyori Sarugaki is a former 12th Division lieutenant who served under both Kirio Hikifune and Kisuke Urahara. She had a tough time accepting Urahara as Hikifune's successor—Hikifune was basically a mother figure to her, so that shift hit hard.
You'd recognize her instantly: tiny, blonde pigtails, a perpetual scowl, and that little fang poking out on the left side of her mouth. She's almost always in a red jogging suit with the kanji for "monkey" on it, which honestly suits her personality better than you'd think. Despite being small, she's got a reputation for a violent temper and isn't shy about throwing her weight around—or more accurately, her sandal. She's notorious for constantly beating up Shinji Hirako, which has been going on since their lieutenant days. The funny part is she outranked him back then, yet she still treats him like a punching bag whenever the mood strikes.
When Hiyori achieved her Visored powers, it took her longer than almost anyone else to master her inner hollow—69 minutes and 2 seconds, nearly as long as Ichigo's struggle. Her zanpakutō is pretty standard-looking aside from a distinctly girly touch: the tsuba is decorated with little hearts, which clashes hilariously with her rough-and-tumble personality. She wears it slung from her right shoulder like Ichigo does. Her hollow mask has a large horn and pink striping across the top, giving it a more distinctive look than most.
