Razor is one of Greed Island's Gamemasters and was instrumental in creating the game itself. He's a tall, athletic guy who clearly loves sports—ball games especially seem to be his thing. Ging Freecss trusted him with a specific instruction: don't go easy on Gon if he ever shows up.
Getting one of the game's hardest designated cards means facing Razor and his "14 devils." Turns out those aren't actual pirates following him—they're Nen creatures he can emit at will. He's also capable of creating Nen balls and hurling them with devastating force; a direct hit could easily kill someone. His role as a major obstacle paid off: he was ultimately defeated by Gon's team in a brutal dodgeball match, which included Killua, Biscuit, Hisoka, and several hired hunters.
After his loss, Razor opened up to Gon about his past. He's a former convict, same as the other prisoners exiled to the island—and he actually serves as their warden. Despite his criminal history, he and Ging became close friends, and Ging appointed him as one of the Gamemasters to oversee the island.
