A third-year middle schooler and younger brother to Ryuuta Saki. He's practically his older brother's twin—at least that's what Kindaichi thinks, constantly calling him "Saki number two" as a joke. Like Ryuuta, Ryuuji is camera-obsessed and constantly records everything around him, which has become surprisingly useful for solving cases.
He got involved with Kindaichi after the "Kindaichi the Killer" case, where he claimed his late brother came to him in a dream asking him to keep recording things. Ever since, he's been helping out with genuine enthusiasm, documenting evidence that often turns out to be crucial.
It's worth noting that the anime adaptation changed things significantly—since Ryuuta is alive in that version, Ryuuji doesn't appear at all, and his manga scenes get reassigned to his older brother instead.
