Opacho is Hao's most devoted follower—literally raised by him after he found her as a malnourished infant in South Africa. She's fiercely loyal, accompanying him nearly everywhere and serving as a confidant for his plans and thoughts about Yoh. In the English dub, Opacho is referred to as male, though this varies depending on the version.
Personality-wise, she's got genuine power behind her devotion. Her abilities include clairvoyance and illusion projection, and in the manga she can read minds too—though her combat strength never gets properly tested. She fights as part of Hao's Hoshigumi team during the Shaman Tournament, but fans never see what she can actually do in a fight.
Despite her unwavering support, Opacho isn't blind to Hao's flaws. When he absorbs the Great Spirit's power late in the anime, she recognizes that he's become something darker and abandons him. Her final appearance is in episode 64, watching the destiny star pass by. She's one of the rare Hoshigumi members who makes it through to the end. Her spirit companion goes by "Mama."
