Yuu's been Yoshino Chiaki's chief assistant for years. He and Hatori actually go way back—they all knew each other in junior high. There's this immediate friction between Hatori and Yanase that's pretty obvious from the start, though the reason doesn't come out until later: they're both interested in Chiaki romantically. The whole dynamic gets complicated once everyone realizes what's actually going on.
