Bodoro was examinee #191 during the Hunter Exam. A lifelong martial artist and something of a hardass, he's best known for his unshakeable code of honor—so strict that when Netero interviewed him for the final stage, he flat-out refused to fight Gon and Killua, viewing them as children regardless of their actual combat prowess. That moral line was basically unbreakable for him.
He had this unspoken rivalry with another martial artist also taking the exam, though fans often note this was really only a thing in the original anime. When things got desperate during Rippo's bonus stage after the Trick Tower, that beef just evaporated.
In the fifth stage, Bodoro finally caught a real fight against Hisoka—and got completely humbled. For someone who'd spent his entire life with a perfect record of opponents unable to withstand even a single hit from him, it was a wake-up call. He couldn't land anything on Hisoka. After Hisoka whispered something in his ear (the exact words aren't clear), Bodoro admitted defeat and moved on to fight Leorio next.
