A legendary rakugo performer carrying deep emotional scars from his past. He spent decades refusing to take on any apprentices—until Yotarou came along and changed everything.
Bon's path to rakugo was almost accidental. As a kid, he trained as a dancer, but a leg injury ended that dream. His mother, a geisha, decided he'd become a rakugo performer instead and sent him to study under the Seventh Generation Yakumo Yuurakutei. That's where he met Shin, a boy who showed up out of nowhere and somehow convinced their teacher to take him on the spot.
Kikuhiko—the name he was given as an apprentice—had the technical skills down and a natural memory for stories. But his early performances were stiff and emotionless, lacking any real spark. Shin, who had genuine passion for rakugo burning inside him, quickly became the better performer. Frustrated with his own rigid style, Kikuhiko experimented with bawdy, erotic material and discovered he had a real gift for playing female characters. That became his thing.
