Yotarou gets out of prison with no memory of why he was there in the first place, and no family waiting for him on the outside. His solution? Show up at the doorstep of Yakumo Yuurakutei, the greatest rakugo storyteller alive. Through a series of circumstances, Yotarou falls hard for rakugo and decides he wants to become a performer himself. Surprisingly, Yakumo—who's never taken on an apprentice—decides to mentor him on the spot. Now Yotarou and Konatsu, a young woman living in Yakumo's household, are working to bring rakugo back from the edge as the art form slowly dies out. But as Yotarou settles in, he starts picking up on something darker lurking in both Yakumo and Konatsu's pasts. The house grows tense and unsettling. Still, none of that really matters to Yotarou—he's locked in on one thing: becoming a master of rakugo himself.
