Shioyaki is a member of the Arlong Pirates, serving as their Head of Banquets. His name is basically a pun—it refers to a common Japanese cooking method where fish (usually salmon) gets broiled with salt. Like a few other minor crew members including Kaneshiro, Pisaro, and Nuke, Shioyaki only ever got an official name through the Data Books rather than appearing with one in the actual story.
