Hilda was Albert Heinrich's fiancée before he became Cyborg 004 and got caught up in Black Ghost's schemes. She doesn't get a ton of development—her background and what she was actually like remain pretty hazy—but her death ends up being huge for Albert's character. It's the kind of tragedy that haunts him throughout the series, and you see it come up repeatedly across different adaptations of the manga.
