What makes him stand out though is his personality. He's stubborn as hell and won't take anyone's crap, but that same stubbornness comes from caring. He'll throw down with Oikawa constantly over his stupid antics, but the moment his best friend starts doubting himself or overworking, Iwaizumi's right there to pull him back. He acts as the team's morale booster whenever needed, filling gaps that go way beyond volleyball—and yeah, that includes being decent to someone like Kageyama, who most people wouldn't bother with.
His no-nonsense attitude and genuine support have earned him serious respect from his teammates. Some of them honestly look up to him more than they do their actual captain. That's the kind of presence he has.
