Johan Liebert
In the early '90s, Johan moved to Bruntal and moved in with a couple named Liebert. They'd lost their own son, also named Johan, years earlier when he was still an infant. After a conveniently timed fire destroyed the town's birth certificate records, Johan assumed the dead boy's identity—a calculated move that gave him a legitimate past and a family name to hide behind.
The Lieberts became his cover story. Johan set them up with a house in Offenbach, Hessen, but he was rarely there. They were useful mainly as proof of existence if anyone ever asked questions about his background or family ties.
Julius Reichwein eventually tracked down the couple and urged them to leave Johan, warning them of the danger he represented. They didn't listen. They stayed.
