Koutarou decided to move out and get his own place during high school, but he's working with a seriously tight budget—just 5,000 yen a month. Against the odds, he stumbles onto a six tatami apartment he can actually afford. The catch? Nobody told him the place has a reputation for being haunted, which is exactly why the rent is so cheap.
Once he moves in, things get weird fast. He runs into Sanae, an actual ghost; Yurika, who claims to be a magical girl; Kiriha, described as an "earth person"; and Theiamillia (usually just called Thei), an honest-to-god alien. All four of them have their own reasons for wanting apartment 106, and they're not exactly willing to back down. What should've been a simple living situation turns into constant chaos as everyone fights for control of the place.
Thei has a habit of calling him "Neanderthal," which tells you something about how she views him.
