Shakuyaku—better known as Shakky—runs Shakky's Rip-off Bar on the Sabaody Archipelago. She's a former pirate who once sailed alongside Rayleigh and famously got chased by Marine legend Monkey D. Garp back in the day.
These days, Shakky's obsessed with information, especially about other pirates. She reads the newspapers religiously, operating on the principle that knowledge is power. When Luffy showed up, she was the one who filled him in on the other nine pirates with bounties over 100 million beli. She clearly does her homework.
The woman's notoriously tight-lipped about her age—when Luffy asked how old she was after learning she'd quit piracy forty years ago, she shut that conversation down fast. But she warmed up to Luffy pretty quickly, and ended up rooting for him to become Pirate King.
She hung up her pirate life four decades ago to open the bar, which she runs with her trademark style: charging outrageous prices for everything. The exception? She gives Hatchan and the Straw Hats a break on the usual markups.
