Kikyou is one of the toughest Kuja warriors from Amazon Lily—serious, no-nonsense, and pretty much the island's enforcer when it comes to outsiders. She really didn't want Luffy hanging around, and made that clear whenever Boa Hancock showed up. That said, she's not heartless; she genuinely cares about her fellow Kuja, which showed when she stepped in as Marigold was about to smash the petrified Marguerite.
Strength-wise, Kikyou's legitimately formidable. She was able to tank Luffy's Haoushoku-level Haki without going down, which puts her in rarefied company. After the arena fight, she was basically the only Kuja at the party who didn't find Luffy's shenanigans entertaining—everyone else was loosening up, but not her. She also made sure to call out the other Kuja when they started acting ridiculous with sticks in their mouths and noses as Luffy and Hancock left the island.
