Haruto is the main protagonist of Valvrave the Liberator. A high school student living in Jior, he stumbles onto a mysterious mecha called Valvrave during a Dorssia Military Pact Federation invasion and ends up piloting it—despite having zero experience.
He's basically the peacenik type. Haruto genuinely believed fighting wasn't the answer to anything and tried to avoid conflict whenever possible. That changed fast when his childhood friend Sashinami Shouko appeared to die in the Dorssian attack. Suddenly he had a vengeful streak nobody knew about, and he threw himself into piloting the Valvrave just to get payback—reckless move for someone who had no idea what he was doing.
