Tokwan was one of Char Aznable's pilots in Mobile Suit Gundam, operating the MA-05 Bigro mobile armor. He's best known for a brief but memorable encounter with Amuro Ray during the series' space-bound climax.
When White Base made its push toward outer space, Char intercepted a Zanzibar-class cruiser—which happened to carry Tokwan—and commandeered it to pursue them. The engagement that followed didn't last long. Tokwan launched in the Bigro to fight the Gundam, but Amuro's beam rifle proved too much; a direct hit to the cockpit killed him instantly.
His death sparked immediate retaliation. Another Zeon pilot named Dimitri scrambled in the MA-04X Zakrello to settle the score, driven by the need to avenge his fallen comrade. But Dimitri met the same end—the Gundam's superior firepower cut him down before he could make any real impact on the battle.
