Ludmila Lourie is one of the main Vanadis. She starts out as an antagonistic rival to both Eleonora Viltaria and Tigrevurmud Vorn, largely because her family has maintained an eighty-year alliance with House Thenardier—backing her up as one of Felix Aaron Thenardier's supporters. Her constant bickering with Elen was pretty much a given whenever they crossed paths.
That all changed when Tigre saved her from an assassination attempt. His sincerity and sheer valor during that moment shifted something in her, and from that point on, the Frost Vanadis became a genuine ally to both Elen and Tigre throughout the series. Fans often note that this moment marks her real turning point from antagonist to core party member.
