Metal Bat looks like he stepped straight out of a Japanese delinquent manga—classic pompadour and all. His sharp eyes and intense brows make it obvious he's got a short fuse.
Confidence isn't something he lacks. He's the type to walk into any situation, Demon or Dragon level threat, and figure he's got it handled solo. This cocky streak sometimes works against him though. When he encountered Melzalgald, he just smashed one of its marbles without bothering to figure out what it actually did first—not exactly a tactical masterstroke. His speech pattern adds to the whole rough-around-the-edges persona; he's got this pirate-like way of talking, dropping "yer" instead of "your" and that kind of thing.
What's genuine about him is how much his sister means to him. He got legitimately upset about missing her piano recital for a hero meeting, which says a lot about his priorities outside the hero work.
