When Neidhart Müller's forces arrived, Coquelin chose to surrender the base rather than fight—a decision that ended up mattering far more than anyone expected. Because Müller finished his objective so quickly, he got his fleet back to the Battle of Vermilion in time to rescue Reinhard von Lohengramm's flagship, the Brünhild, from what would have been certain destruction.
