Campanella looks like a young boy who simply stopped aging ten years ago—he's neither a homunculus nor immortal, and his actual age and gender remain unknown, though everyone refers to him as male.
His appearance is pretty distinctive. He's got bright green hair with two strands that stick up like antennae, and while only one eye is visible beneath the hair, it's a striking red with a matching tribal tattoo underneath. He dresses in a pink suit over a lavender shirt, ties it all together with a yellow ribbon, and completes the look with black shoes.
There's something fundamentally unknowable about Campanella—his true self stays hidden, which makes his already ambiguous gender identity even harder to pin down. He comes across as cheerful enough on the surface, but that's misleading. He's genuinely cold and sadistic, getting real kicks out of taunting and threatening anyone around him, whether they're enemies or supposed allies. Gilbert Stein seems to be his favorite target for mind games. He's almost never genuinely upset about anything.
That said, he's not completely beyond redemption. He's capable of respecting his enemies and actually understanding what drives them.
As Enforcer No. 0 for Ouroboros, Campanella occupies a unique position—he answers directly to the Grandmaster about how their plans are progressing, and he clearly operates under stricter constraints than his fellow Enforcers. True to his nature, he tends to be pretty laid-back about actually doing the work himself, preferring to sit back and observe how things unfold. He'll even let enemies slip away once he's seen enough.
