A handsome dancer who challenged Mazaki Anzu to the dance battle game, Super Dancer. Although Dark Yugi told Anzu to take no notice, she refused to back down from a challenge and went up against Johnny. Johnny said he would go easy on her because she was hot and that she would go on a date with him if he lost. Anzu refused to accept the conditions, but played anyway and defeated him.
In the Duel Monsters anime, Johnny aspired to be a professional dancer, but gave up on his dream after failing the audition. He still played the dance battle game at the arcade, where he achieved the high score. However, despite his air of being popular, he had no friends. He had some experience in Duel Monsters with a deck of his own (in the anime only;he doesn't duel in the manga), and knew about Yugi Muto and his victory over Pegasus J. Crawford at Duelist Kingdom. Despite this, he doesn't consider himself to be a professional duelist (evident in his actual dueling skill) as he is instead passionate about dancing, rather than dueling. He challenges Anzu to a dance battle just like in the manga, however in the anime he tries to cheat by tripping and elbowing Anzu but she still manages to win.
Afterwards, Johnny followed Dark Yugi and Anzu and confronts them. he demanded a rematch, where if he loses, he will leave them alone, but if he wins, Anzu must become his girlfriend. Anzu told him to give it up, but Dark Yugi instead challenged Johnny to a Duel. Johnny ultimately lost and reckognized Dark Yugi as the one who defeated Pegasus and fled, knowiing he was up against a a powerful oponnent.
Before he escaped, Anzu confronted him about running away. She asked how many friends he has. Johnny lied that he has one, but Anzu did not believe him. She found out about how he failed an audition and consoled with him, saying that she had failed over a dozen and that he should not give up so easily (this is replaced by talks of having friends in the dub). She sent him off with more self confidence than he had before.
