Naki is an S-rated ghoul who spent time locked up in the CCG's prison until Aogiri Tree busted him out during their raid on the facility. He was a direct subordinate of Yamori—supposedly his right hand man—which is why they came for him.
Personality-wise, Naki is confident to the point of being boastful about his strength and his status in Yamori's crew. He doesn't bother hiding who he is; like his boss, he has a twisted outlook, though he lacks Yamori's outright cruelty. He's impulsive and quick to irritate, but also surprisingly emotional and trusting—almost naively so. His respect for Yamori runs deep, and he was completely shattered when he learned Yamori had been killed during the prison break itself.
What's striking about Naki is his childlike mindset. He genuinely believes that helping Yamori count money and run errands made him a responsible, respectable person. He's terrified of loneliness more than anything else, which drives him to risk his life protecting his comrades. Getting sprung from prison only to hear that Yamori was dead left him devastated and alone—exactly what he feared most.
He's also picked up Yamori's habit of cracking his knuckles, though Naki goes for his middle finger instead.
