Togedemaru is a round, mouse-like Pokémon with a white belly and gray back. Its most distinctive features are the 14 spiky fur markings—yellow and brown triangles scattered across its back—that stick straight up when it's attacking, startled, or angry. It has a short snout, small rounded ears, and a yellow cheek marking on each side. The real standout is the lightning bolt-shaped needle on the back of its head, gray with a yellow tip, which it uses to draw in electricity.
Best known for its electric-absorbing tactics, Togedemaru uses that head needle like a lightning rod. In stormy weather, groups of them gather with spikes raised, waiting to get struck by lightning to boost their relatively modest electric reserves. Smart Trainers exploit this by baiting opponents into using Electric-type moves, then flipping that energy right back at them. When something pleases this Pokémon, it curls into a ball and rolls around in an almost uncontrollable way.
The cheek markings can look eerily like electrical outlets when its spines are extended. Togedemaru is known to clash with other electric types over stolen electricity, with these encounters usually ending in a draw.
