A total solar eclipse is coming to the Alola Region, and it's a huge deal—the next one won't happen for over 300 years. When Satoshi hears about it, he jumps at the chance to experience it and convinces Mamane to join him on Eclipse Island. There they meet Fred, a solar eclipse enthusiast who travels the globe chasing these rare events, and decide to watch it together. Unfortunately, clouds roll in on eclipse day, so the group figures their best bet is to head up a nearby mountain where they can see above the weather. Their plan seems solid enough, but Team Rocket also catches wind of the eclipse—and the rumor that rare Pokémon show up during one. They see it as the perfect opportunity to snag some Pokémon and grab Pikachu in the chaos. They ditch their hideout and race up the mountain to intercept Satoshi and friends. When the group finally comes face-to-face with Team Rocket, neither side is paying attention. The eclipse begins, and everything goes sideways. Will Satoshi and his friends actually get to see the eclipse after all, or will Team Rocket's interference ruin the moment?
