Jyabura leads a small unit alongside Fukurou and Kumadori. He's eaten the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Wolf, giving him the ability to transform into a full wolf or a werewolf-like human-wolf hybrid form.
He's obsessed with the idea that he and Rob Lucci are rivals, though Lucci shows basically no interest in the dynamic. Jyabura is fiercely competitive to the point of pettiness—he genuinely got upset when he found out that Kaku had surpassed him in strength. He also holds some bizarre superstitions, like his belief that two Devil Fruit users will explode if they get too close to each other (Blueno had to correct him on that one). In combat, he's not above using tricks and deception to catch opponents off guard.
During the Enies Lobby arc, Jyabura initially went up against Sogeking, but the sniper clearly wasn't a fair match. Sanji jumped in to save his crewmate, and that's when things got serious. Jyabura found himself completely outmatched by Sanji's Diable Jambe technique, which shattered through his Tekkai defense. What makes Jyabura notable is that he's the only member of his unit to actually master Tekkai Kempo—a fighting style that lets you blend martial arts with Tekkai, the body-hardening technique—but it wasn't enough to take down the cook.
