Yagi runs the Kamogawa Gym and goes way back with Miyata's father. He handles the usual manager stuff—booking fights, handling publicity, moving merchandise—but he's also got his hands in the finances and will jump in to help with training when needed. He's genuinely likable, the type to add ~kun to everyone's name around the gym.
The interesting thing about Yagi is his fishing. He's obsessed, and the moment he picks up a rod, he becomes a completely different person—Miyata's father literally describes him getting "the face of a demon." He's absurdly skilled at it too. People have seriously suggested he could go pro and win a world championship if he wanted to. His reputation got so bad that multiple fishing ponds actually posted "No Yagi Allowed" signs after he basically emptied their stock and tanked their business.
