Kazuma comes from the neighboring village of Rokunosaki and has a reputation for being hard to read—his charming smile often puts people on guard during conversations. He's genuinely interested in farming and has a lot of respect for Naru's grandfather, seeing him as the real deal when it comes to agricultural knowledge.
He and Seishuu first cross paths at an inter-village sports festival where they're competing directly against each other. Miwa and Tama quickly piece together that Kazuma is the same Higashino who got shown up by Seishuu's running ability back in middle school, and they start calling him "Dash"—a nickname that had already stuck with him from Seishuu's classmates. Seishuu later comes up with his own name for him: "Mush," a pretty obvious jab at his mushroom-shaped haircut.
