Kyo's the kind of guy who throws himself into everything—he's a solid student and genuinely loves swimming, which he's pretty much obsessed with. But he's also quick to get frustrated when he doesn't have answers, and that recklessness tends to catch up with him.
His real strength shows up in the cockpit, though. He's a talented pilot who serves as the Gunner aboard the Altair Zegapain, and he takes that responsibility seriously. What makes his story unique is the whole mess he gets dragged into: he discovers that basically everything around him is fake—the world he knows is an illusion. From there, he's forced into this impossible position where he has to fight to save the real world while also protecting the people still trapped inside the fake one. It's the kind of existential nightmare that would test anyone, especially someone as direct and impatient as Kyo.
