Synopsis

Kyou Sogoru's just your typical high school swimmer living it up in Maihama City—hanging with friends, hitting the pool, gaming. Pretty standard stuff. Then Shizuno Misaki shows up out of nowhere and asks him to do something weird: jump into the school pool with her. That jump changes everything. Kyou ends up in a war zone where humanity's fighting for survival against alien invaders called the Gards-Orm. The only way humans stand a chance is by piloting giant robots called Zegas. An underground organization called Cerebrum is leading the resistance, and somehow Kyou gets pulled into it. As he gets thrown into actual combat, meets other Zega pilots, and watches people die around him, he starts questioning what's really going on. And more importantly, what the hell his actual life even is.
