Alibaba Saluja is the protagonist of Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic. When we first meet him at 17, he's hell-bent on conquering the nearby dungeon Amon—a goal everyone around him thinks is crazy. He starts off looking like pure greed, chasing money and status, but it becomes clear pretty fast that he actually cares about people. When he runs into Aladdin, he finally gets the push he needs to seriously pursue dungeon exploration, something he'd always wanted to do but was too intimidated to attempt alone.
Sinbad becomes his hero, not just as someone Alibaba admires but as living proof it's possible—the only known survivor of a dungeon conquest. That accomplishment sets the bar for what Alibaba aspires to.
In Adventure of Sinbad, Alibaba shows up occasionally in supporting moments but doesn't play a major role.
