The Shinsengumi's second unit captain who tends to describe himself as "Sanosuke's keeper"—basically his babysitter, though he'd probably laugh about it. Like Tetsu, he gets underestimated constantly because of his height and baby face, which makes him look way younger than he actually is. He's in his twenties, but people assume he's a kid at first glance.
Don't let the boyish looks fool you though. He's genuinely one of the best swordsmen around, operating at about the same level as Okita Soji. He's also hilarious, especially when he's goofing off with Sanosuke and Heisuke—the three of them together are basically comedic gold.
