Mikiya Awakusu
Dougen's second son and current Young Head of Awakusu-kai. His older brother stepped away from yakuza life entirely, making Mikiya the de facto heir despite not being the firstborn—a relatively uncommon setup in modern organized crime where family succession is becoming less standard. He's genuinely enthusiastic about taking over the organization and following his father's path.
The problem is he hasn't really earned much on his own merit. Rival gangs see him as the soft underbelly of Awakusu-kai, and plenty of members within his own organization—Aozaki in particular—think he's unqualified to run things when Dougen eventually steps down. Even among those who remain outwardly loyal, like Shiki, there's skepticism brewing beneath the surface. Whether Mikiya can prove himself or simply coast on his family name remains an open question.
