Character Description
He runs the Ministry of Priesthood and holds one of the throne's most traditional and powerful positions—basically equal footing with the king himself. He's got authority over royal marriages, which gives him serious leverage. His ministry is deeply hostile to Livinus, mainly because Livinus's mother was the former king's concubine and belongs to an ethnic minority. They see his ascension to the throne as a desecration of everything they stand for. There's strong evidence he's orchestrated the deaths of numerous princesses during the Illumination rite, a deliberate strategy to keep Livinus from securing a wife and, more importantly, producing an heir who might threaten the throne's stability.
