When they first showed up, both were playful and carefree, though their decision to leave Ukitake in the first place remains unclear, especially since they never displayed any actual resentment toward him. After being restored to their normal state, Sōgyo no Kotowari became noticeably more obedient, actually listening to Ukitake instead of running wild. Their dynamic shifted to something more like that of younger brothers or sons vying for their father's attention—constantly vying for his time and affection.
