An immortal swordsman who, like Manji, carries the same parasitic blood-worms that grant him eternal life. During the Muromachi period, Yaobikuni gave him the kessen-chu, making him roughly two hundred years old. His twin weapons—a poisoned dagger and saber, both called Inoue Shinkai Kosatsu ("Wormkiller")—are coated with a deadly toxin of his own design.
He first shows up in Conquest part 1, though he isn't actually named until Cry of the Worm part 1. His plan is straightforward: recruit Manji as an ally to take down Anotsu. It doesn't work out. Manji kills him in Cry of the Worm part 3. Interestingly, the poison he developed—Kessen Satsu—gets repurposed later in Trickster as another weapon against Manji.
